Pacifica Cancellation fee update
Dear customer,
As a measure to optimize available coastal capacity, the notification period to advise of a downward booking change will be extended from current 48 hours to 72 hours effective from 27 April 2023.
This adjustment is intended to closer align with the normal time frames required for replacement cargo to secure transport booking slots, arrange container packing and deliver to the port .
Up to 72 hours prior to the vessels published cut-off, a booking can be cancelled or decreased without incurring any penalty. Thereafter, a cancellation fee of NZ$250 + gst per container will be charged in the following instances :
➢ When a confirmed booking is cancelled, transferred (at shipper’s request) to the next available sailing ,or reduced within 72 hours of the vessels cutoff at the intended port of load
➢ When a container is not available to be loaded at the agreed port on the prescribed vessel as booked (referred to as a ‘no show’).
Our preference is not to bill these charges however late cancellations are a cost to our business and effectively remove much needed coastal capacity which is under increasing pressure due to port move count restrictions in conjunction with recent berth window reinstatements.
Pacifica is committed to working closely with our customers to manage space allocations and to avoid where possible, penalty fees for late changes and/or cancellations to confirmed bookings.
Please contact your Pacifica representative if you have any further questions.
Kind regards
