Pacifica Shipping: Connecting New Zealand
Since 1985 Pacifica has been New Zealand’s leading dedicated coastal ship operator and sustainable domestic cargo carrier.
In 2014 Pacifica was acquired by The China Navigation Company Pte Ltd (changed to Swire Shipping (NZ) Ltd from October 2021), since then we have significantly invested to increase capacity to meet rising coastal and international transhipment demand. Our core activity is domestic transport; offering door-to-door and wharf-to-wharf movements for inter-regional FCL cargo to complement New Zealand’s Road and rail networks.
MV Moana Chief and MV Takutai Chief
Pacifica operate two New Zealand flagged container ships; MV Moana Chief a 1700 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) and MV Takutai Chief a 1300 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) vessels on a fix day schedule linking key North and South Island ports. In addition to the ports called on our vessels, Pacifica have access to a wider New Zealand coastal network.
Pacifica are proud to offer the most sustainable transport model by combining scale of capacity with the environmental advantages of lowest carbon emissions across all modes.
